In a metaphysical sense, we are constantly striving for harmony, creation, and beauty - in all its manifestations. If a picture paints a thousand words, then a space can inspire stories by the million. For us, these stories are everything. We seek them out in every place we work. We let our curiosity roam freely through a landscape. We delve into its past, question its essence, and listen - until it has nothing left to reveal. Its legends, its quirks, its crafts. With these fragments in hand, we shape a new narrative. We experiment. We explore. We edit and refine. And in doing so, the essence of a location is woven into the sensations of our space. We bring them together to create something moving, memorable, and magical.

Each of our projects holds a secret: the personality of the person who will live it. That’s why, every time we begin designing a new moment, our thoughts immediately turn to them - the person who will inhabit it. We try to imagine their habits.Their desires.The objects they cherish and surround themselves with. The situations, the moments, the atmospheres they seek. These are like snapshots of life. From these insights, our ideas begin to take shape. From these ideas, our own style is born - a style that people can identify with, and within it, recognize themselves. It’s an exchange. 'It’s how you live' expresses this simple, essential belief: We are inspired by people and the way they live. Every Adrien & Stefan creation is dedicated to them - To their lives, and to the emotions they experience every single day.

It’s important to know how to frame the future and what the real issues are before we choose where to allocate our energy. The book is a gaze at some of the issues we’re facing, and how we think about tackling them. We listen closely, think deeply, and speak openly, most of the time in that order. ... 'It was there that we realized there existed a place where people engaged with the world of ideas, of emotions, that we too desired to be a part of.' ...

We interpret images as evidence of a personal journey and documents of an aesthetic, emotional reaction more than of a will to document or jot down in any formal sense. In our opinion an event or a Interior Design project must convey emotion and sensuality. It is synonymous with passion and warmth, it cannot be a cold moment, it has to be a kind of work of art. It is always a process involving intuition, imagination, a knack for abstraction from the present, and the ability to connect elements that at first glance you perhaps might not think of combining.
